Every so often a wedding reminds us exactly why we do this. The Cassie Randolph wedding — Cassie and Brighton’s day in Tamarindo — was one of them. Two families flew into Costa Rica’s Pacific coast, seventy people who love this couple gathered on a green above the ocean, and as the sun dropped over the water, Brighton dipped Cassie for their first kiss as newlyweds. We had the honor of photographing all of it, and People shared the day with the world.

The setting: The Point, above the Tamarindo coast

The couple chose The Point, a luxury villa perched above the Pacific in Tamarindo, Guanacaste. Cassie and Brighton had stayed there years earlier on a family vacation and, as she told People, completely fell in love with it. It is the kind of place Costa Rica does best: manicured green giving way to open ocean, warm light, and a horizon that goes on forever. Their planner, Nicole Fernández, shaped the weekend, with Cassie’s manager Danielle DeGregory of AMIBA Consulting helping coordinate the celebrations.

A golden-hour ceremony over the Pacific

The ceremony was kept close and personal. The Cassie Randolph wedding stayed intimate from the first look to the final toast. Both brothers stood up front to marry them: Brighton’s brother Cole and Cassie’s brother Landon officiated together. Cassie walked in wearing a Pronovias satin gown with a draped cowl and a long train that caught the breeze off the water. As they sealed it with a kiss, the sun was already turning the sky gold behind them. Seventy guests, phones up, the ocean at their backs. It is a frame we will remember for a long time.

A song nobody saw coming

At the reception, Brighton, a musician, surprised Cassie with an original song he had written for her called “Wherever We Are,” and sang it to her in front of everyone. Those are the moments we live to document: unscripted, a little vulnerable, entirely theirs. Documentary coverage exists for exactly this, the look on a face when something real is happening.

Why couples choose Tamarindo for a Costa Rica wedding

Tamarindo, on the Guanacaste coast, pairs easy access from North America with beaches, jungle, and reliable dry-season light from roughly December through April. It is one of the reasons Costa Rica has become a favorite for destination weddings and elopements, whether the day is 70 guests at a clifftop villa or two people on the sand at sunset. For couples planning a Costa Rica wedding, Tamarindo is one of the easiest corners of the country to reach: it sits roughly 75 minutes from Liberia’s international airport, so guests flying in from the U.S. can land and be toasting by sunset the same day. The dry season from December through April brings reliable golden light and warm Pacific evenings — the exact conditions that made the Cassie Randolph wedding glow. Between the beaches, the jungle, and the town’s easy rhythm, it’s a place that turns a wedding into a long weekend nobody wants to leave. See more of our work in our Costa Rica wedding portfolio.
